The Apprentice star Philip Taylor is set to launch a business selling ethical underwear, according to tabloid reports. Taylor was the mastermind of one of the highlights of the 2009 series of The Apprentice with his ‘Pantsman’ character created for an advertising task, but he insists his new business is ‘anything but a gimmick’.
SPOILERS: The apprentice candidates have been spotted filming in a number of locations over the UK for the sixth series which is due later this year. The group of candidates have been taking part in Sir Alan’s tasks since September last year, being watched closely as ever by Sir Alan’s aid Nick Hewer.
The new series of The Apprentice is to be pushed back by several months because the BBC do not want the new Lord Sugar to be on TV during the General Election, it has emerged. The Apprentice usually starts in March, but now it’s not expected until late May at the earliest.
A former female employee of Sir Alan is suing him, his son and last year’s apprentice winner Lee McQueen for alleged sexual discrimination and sexual remarks made against her.
Apprentice Series 5 runner up Kate Walsh has reported landed herself a presenting job alongside Lorraine Kelly on GMTV, The Sun reports. According to the newspaper Kate will be hosting a segment in the show titled “What women should wear in the office.”
Sir Alan Sugar has been given the green light to continue with The Apprentice despite calls for him to quit over conflicts of interest. Some MPs had claimed the show and Sir Alan’s new job and peerage from Gordon Brown were “totally incompatible.”
