The Apprentice star Philip Taylor is set to launch a business selling ethical underwear, according to tabloid reports. Taylor was the mastermind of one of the highlights of the 2009 series of The Apprentice with his ‘Pantsman’ character created for an advertising task, but he insists his new business is ‘anything but a gimmick’.
According to the Sunday Mirror, Taylor has already produced the ‘Happy Cottons’ underwear and is looking to launch them next month.
Speaking to the paper, Philip said: “I know that everyone thought the whole Pantsman thing was a bit of a joke and looking back I can see the funny side, but my new business is anything but a gimmick.
“It may take some time, but I genuinely believe I can turn Happy Cottons into a brand to rival anything else on the high street.”
Philip explained: “There is a gap in the market for a fashionable brand of ethical underwear and that’s what I’ve created. Ethical clothing is nothing new but I wanted to create something genuinely accessible to everyday shoppers.
“Also, I am looking to retail them at £10 so they will not be anywhere near as expensive as a lot of my competitors.
“The inspiration for this company may have come from something funny, but I honestly believe this business will be a huge success.”
Happy Cotton’s will first be sold online at HappyCottons.com
